Hummingbird Swing FAQ
Do hummingbirds really swing on it?
Yes! Hummingbirds are extremely territorial. Just place within one foot of a food source, and hummingbirds will use the swing as a perching spot to keep watch over their food source.
How do I hang my swing?
Each swing comes with either a stainless steel or copper s-type hook You can use the included hook to hang your swing from any garden pole. Be sure to read proper swing to feeder placement below. You can purchase additional s hooks from Pop’s to hang your feeders nearby.
Where should I place my swing?
We recommend hanging your swing no more than 1 ft away from a feeder or nectar rich flowering plant, eye level with the food source and away from trees or other competing perching spots
How can I help hummingbirds discover my swing?
Try placing your swing in an existing feeder location, then move the feeder about a foot away, eye level with the swing. This will help hummingbirds discover the swing due to their excellent recall memory! Clean your feeder regularly and provide fresh nectar every 1-2 days to ensure you are providing an area worth being territorial over. Choose a location for your swing / feeder that is well protected from the elements, with easy access to guard and retreat as needed. Above all else, give it time. It may take your hummingbirds an entire season to discover the swing, especially if introduced mid-season.

When stored After opening, if stored in a cool dark area in its original packaging the nectar will stay fresh for weeks (or months when refrigerated). Nectar in a feeder may only stay fresh for a few days depending on how hot it is in your climate.
How often should I change my hummingbird nectar?
